As a service technician or service manager, you are key in delivering the value of John Deere Protect to the customer. The Service department is vital in keeping the customer’s machine running by providing thorough Expert Inspections, scheduling and performing preventative maintenance, and fixing downtime failures fast. It is important to understand the key areas of John Deere Protect such as:

  • Utilizing Service Admin Portal (SvAP) to manage John Deere Protect contracts and notifications.
  • Scheduling and performing John Deere Expert Inspections.
  • Performing preventative maintenance promptly when the customer’s machine hits scheduled maintenance milestones.
  • Providing a replacement rental machine if the customer’s machine will be down for more than 24 hours (if applicable).
  • Following John Deere Protect policies and guidelines for wear parts adjustment and replacement (if applicable).
  • PowerGard™ Protection Plan coverage for defects in materials and workmanship found during the Expert Inspection.

Important things to note for John Deere Protect™ claims:

  • All reimbursements are made through the John Deere Warranty System (JDWS).
  • Parts are reimbursed at John Deere’s list price.
  • Maintenance labor is reimbursed at your dealership’s registered labor rate.
  • Expert Inspections are reimbursed at a flat rate specific to each product line.
  • Travel to and from the customer’s location is NOT covered by John Deere Protect.
  • Hauling to and from the dealership is NOT covered by John Deere Protect
